A collection of genuine fossil belemnite rostra, the solid internal guards of an extinct group of marine cephalopods related to modern squid and cuttlefish.
Belemnites were highly successful predators that inhabited prehistoric oceans during the Mesozoic Era. Their distinctive bullet-shaped guards are the most commonly preserved part of the animal and give these fossils their characteristic pointed form.
